Summary
Death stands in an impoverished home, wearing a crown of leaves and an hour glass on his head and a chain wrapped around his right arm and body; he carries a bagpipe in his left arm. An old woman welcomes Death, kneeling at his feet; behind her, an old man also turns towards Death, a younger woman cooks on the hearth. Through the door and window in the background, scenes of a man being conducted to prison and beggars receiving alms.
