Scope and content
Adapted by Sir Edward Dering of Surrenden, Kent, for performance in his household, the two parts of the play condensed into one. Copied by a "Mr. Carington" (possibly Samuel Carrington, rector of Wootton, in Kent) in January or February 1623, with various alterations and insertions in Dering's hand. Facing leaf 1 is a cast list for John Fletcher's "The Spanish Curate" with the names of members of the Dering family and their friends.
