Scope and content
Transcripts of letters, treatises, dialogues, etc., relating to the reigns of Elizabeth and James I. Includes R. Wingfield's letter to Burghley describing the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots, February 11, 1586/87, the letter from Thomas Alured to the marquis of Buckingham, 1621, Lambarde's Archion, an account of Sir Walter Raleigh's death and his speech from the scaffold, and a dialog between a Councilor and a justice of the peace attributed to Raleigh.
Note
Collection appears to have been formed, and is annotated by, Twysden. Several of the items were copied from Sir Robert Cotton's library.
