Ascham, October 27, 1561, from Laurence Humphrey and [Thomas Sampson] to the bishops, and to the Queen concerning the Vestiarian controversy, [1565], from [the Commissioners for Queen's College, Oxford?] to Edmund Grindal [1561], from Roger Marbeck to the Queen, the Earl of Leicester, Thomas Thornton, [Thomas Young, Matthew Parker], the bishop of Salisbury, John Dolbeare, Henry Blageus, William Clerk, Reginald Pole, Dom. E. Rosse, and [Thomas?] (Barnard), canon of Christ Church, Oxford, [1561?-1564]; a speech delivered by Tobie Matthew before the Earl of Leicester, 1570; a letter from Matthew to the Earl 1577, and his prayer; speeches by Marbeck, Nicholas Balgay, John Rainolds, Peter Wentworth (in Parliament, [February 8, 1576]), and a speech castigating Richard II; sermons by Rainolds, 1576; petitions of Christ Church, Oxford, to the Queen, the Earl of Leicester and Lord Burghley, July 10, 1575, signed by Robert Dorset and Thomas Thornton; two discourses of Sir Thomas Smith touching the succession and the Queen's marriage, ca. 1560; reasons for the Queen to proceed with severity in the case of the Queen of Scots; ["articles" of religion "delivered unto Master Edward Dering ...
