In reply to a request for a further donation to the Shakespeare memorial fund. Dickens no longer approves of the project. With it was a cancelled check for £10 to the Shakespeare memorial fund, signed by Dickens, March 18, 1864 (cancelled check removed and put on exhibit in September 1954, now missing).
