Binding information
20th-century half-leather binding with spine title RECIPES in sans serif gold lettering. Bound prior to acquisition by the Folger (verso of front loose endleaf has dealer's pencil note "Medical MS 17 cent. 200-" and what appears to be a five-letter price code).
Provenance
Ordered from E. Driscoll 1962-06-08 for $200 (by direct quote). According to Driscoll's description, "believed to have been the work of Barbara, wife of Henry Carlyon [sic], gentleman of Menaguins, Cornwall, who died in 1668," but no evidence for this is given.
