Prefatory matter includes the translator's dedication to Prince Maximillian, his apology (verse), various verses addressed to the translator, and the life of Petrarch and of Laura. The biography of Petrarch is a translation from Vellutello (later form) ; that of Laura a translation from Gesualdo. Notes accompany translation.
