All of the letters discuss Fleay's and Penniman's literary work on drama; (1) mentions a book published by J. Russell Smith entitled Shakspere and Jonson: Dramatic vs. Wit-Combats; several discuss Jonson's quarrel with Marston; (4) also mentions [Samuel?] Daniel. (7) consists of two pages of "Queries," a list of six questions, including several on Ben Jonson's Every man in his humour. (8) is a chart of Jonson and Marston plays, containing a list with dates, theatres, companies, etc (1 p.).
