Scope and content
Scott indicates that, while he has considered Beaumont and Fletcher a great deal, he cannot think of interfering with Gilchrist's edition. Thanks him for a pamphlet on the Jonsonian controversy, yet he fears "there was some discension between him and Shakespeare." Year of letter based on postmark.
