Opie desires her correspondent to give her proxy papers to a poor lady. Also refers to the Great Exhibition of 1851 and, in doing so, makes an allusion to Hamlet: "how I do wish the Exhibition will have complete success! But 'The Times are out of joint! but I am thankful that I was not born to set them right.' I have much unity with Hamlet on some points, but I do not feel that I was born to do this great service..." Addressed to "my dear friend." Written from Castle Meadow and dated 4th mo. 30th, 1845.
