Swinburne thanks Symonds for his interesting book on Shakespeare's predecessors. Mentions "a most curious play dated 1594" - The wars of Cyrus - which Swinburne declares "incomparably better than that damnable dunghill rubbish Locrine." Also discusses at some length the spelling of Shakespeare's name. Also, an envelope labelled "autograph letter A.C. Swinburne to J.A. Symonds."
