Hutchinson wishes to dispel the notion that he thinks that Platt's work on Bacon cryptograms in Shakespeare is unnecessary. On the contrary, he finds it most valuable to the controversy. All he meant was that it was unnecessary to convincing himself.

Letter sent from Middle Temple Library, London, E.C. An extra leaf that begins with P.S. can be found in the July 18, 1905 letter from Hutchinson to Platt (Y.c.3310) but could possibly belong to this letter.
