Autograph letter signed from Benjamin Thompson, Nottingham, to Thomas Hill, London [manuscript], 1801? January 24.
Description
2 leaves ; 34 x 21 cm
Scope and content
Thompson writes that he is sending two acts. He discusses whether he should buy Egerton's set of Rowe's Shakspear and if Hill has bought them for him already. He is going to Hull and asks if Hill would like him to buy any books at the extensive shops there. Thompson would like to purchase all the editions of Shakespeare and Jennings has informed him that a second-hand dealer at Hull has an old edition of Shakespeare and would like to know if he can discover whether it is 1st, 2nd, or 3rd edition and if it is worth £3.3, the price demanded.
