Layout: Written in 2 columns of 39 lines (dimensions of written space: 205 x 125 mm); writing begins below the top line; all lines have double prickings; framed ruled in lead with double inner and outer vertical bounding lines; headings written in alternating blue and red letters throughout; minor marginalia with manicules.
Script: Written by multiple scribes in a Gothic hand; English cursive hand appears in some places.
Pen-trials and scribblings on leaf 205v, including "Honorificabilcontinitatibus esto" (see Burning-Lawrence, Bacon is Shakespeare, 1910, chapter 10); also includes a sketch of a dog.
