(1) Dated January 15, 1914; Vedder speaks of a cancer dying poem. Includes a separate sheet containing the poem The nightmare. First line: When pleasant dreams by horrors are replaced. (2) Dated July 15, 1914; Vedder briefly comments on Winter's book and discusses his summer in Italy.
