Sampson mentions the death of Edwin Booth, and he shares the inscription, composed by Booth, that appears on the monument of David Christian Anderson in Greenwood Cemetery. Also, mounted on the same support, clippings from New York and Baltimore papers regarding the death of Edwin Booth, along with notes in the hand of William Winter.
