Description of the reconstructed Covent Garden printed before its grand reopening on September 18, 1809. The original Covent Garden theater burned in 1808. The reconstructed theater was comissioned by John Philip Kemble and designed by architect Robert Smirke. Much of this description is devoted to the interior which was not yet open to the public.
