Includes a transcript of the play with an introduction and extensive notes, studies, and comparisons to Shakespeare's plays, in an effort to attribute the authorship to Shakespeare instead of Thomas Tomkis. The transcript of the play is in the hand of an amanuensis, while the introductory material and notes are apparently in the hand of Henry Ingall, whose signature appears on leaf 25.

According to a note on leaf 53, Albumazar was transcribed from Dodsley's edition of Old Plays (1744), collated and corrected against the unique manuscript annotations and corrections in Ingall's copy of the original 1615 edition (STC (2nd ed.), 24100).
