These papers appear to have been assembled by Smyth of Nibley, one of whose descendants married into the Owen family of Condover, and thence into the Cholmondeley family of Cheshire. Several concern the Berkeley family with whom he was associated.

Volume (bound in 1889 by Lord Crewe) is Z.e.1. Item formerly Z.e.1 (2) has been removed from volume and rehoused in envelope as Z.c.30 (3).

Z.e.1 (6) and Z.e.1 (7) were removed from the volume, location unknown.

Majority are transcripts.
