Scope and content
Correspondents: Robert Morris and Miss Robinson. (1) is written on April 10, 1776. "I am here in a damn'd whimsical situation ... from the uncertainty of the enemy's intention ... I may be in the North, when as Richard the third says, I should serve my sovereign in the West." Impatient with Congress' delays. (2) is written on December 15, 1775. "Have you ... read Shakespear over and over again? ... " Boston is in great distress. Has written a letter to Burgoyne.
