A manuscript by James T. Foard. Presumably intended to provide a substitute opening, in place of the first three paragraphs, of an accompanying printed essay, "Shakespeare's Classical Plays" (reprinted from the Manchester Quarterly, October, 1893). The author is apparently turning an article into a paper for oral delivery. With it is a poem, in a different hand, "The song of the bow".
