Scope and content
Copious additions, corrections, and substitutions written, in Morgann's autograph, in margins and on interleaves of a copy of the printed book. Though the second edition (1820, reissued 1821, 1825), does not incorporate these alterations and its editor writes (Preface, p.vi) that Morgann had "been importuned in vain to give a second edition of his Essay," it is hard to see what other object might have led to these extensive revisions.
