In many of the letters to Daly, Howard discusses either an idea for a new play or plans for adaptation of an old play. "Saratoga", "Lillian's Last Love", "Moorcroft", "Diamonds", "The Tramp" and "Wives" are dealt with in some detail. Also he gives an estimate of the acting ability of a Miss O'Conner (see September 13, 1873). The letter to Florence deals with Mr. And Mrs. Florence's roles in "The Tramp".
