Blanks completed in manuscript [contractions here expanded]: These are to certifie all whom it doth concern, that Jonas Nowell, master or commander of the Ship Hawk of Plymouth, burthen fifty tons or thereabouts, mounted with noe guns, navigated with tenn men English, built and bound for Plymouth, hath produced a certificate bearing date the 23th day 8ber 1690 under the hands and seals of the principal officers of the custom-house in the port of London ... : and hath here loaden and taken on board thirty fiue hogsheads and one tearse of browne sugar, seuenteen baggs of pocketts cotton wooll, fiue hogsheads, four tearses and twelue barrells of mollasses, and two hundred forty four bundles of leafe tobacco. Dated at the custom house in Antigua the tweluth day of June, 1691 ["Anno Regni Regis Domini nostri Jacobi Secundi" struck through, replaced with] and in the third year of the reigne of our Souereigne Lord and Lady King William & Queen Mary ouer England &c. Signed in manuscript above seal: Francois Ebrard, Jonas Nowell; signed in manuscript at end: Sam. Horne; Walter Quarme, sec'y and navall officer.
