The procession of François, Duke of Anjou (also known as the Duc d'Alençon) arriving at Antwerp city hall on 22 February 1582. Anjou, on horseback below a canopy, approaches a stage where he will be sworn in as Duke of Brabant.

Inscriptions below image: Vergeblich der victori sich / Beruhmen hoch die Konigreich / Du aber O gerechtigkeit / Das recht zu uben sey bereit / So bistu setzlich kommen noch, / Und dich lassen anschawen doch, / Dessen so lang gewartet ist, / Und hoch verhofft vor langer frist ; En Anvers sur le grand marché devant la maison de la ville fut erigé ung [sic] theatre excellent et bien orné, sur le quel estoit le du[c] D'allençon. Et feit promesses par sermens sollemnelz aulx habitants et bourgeois, qui les vouloit garantir et deffendre, eulx et le pays, com[m]e vray Duc de brabant.
