Incurved bowl, intaglio cut with a bust of the poet within cartouched oval medallion; on the obverse with the coat of arms of the poet blazoned with a lance; banner below "Non Sanz Droict", transversely, the shield with scrollings of roses; the lip with this inscription, "He lived not for an age but for all time"; on baluster stem and flaring round foot.
