In early sheep with blind fillets and centerpiece (rebacked in calf). Inscription on verso of front free endpaper: "Sic lacrimis consumpta suis" (Ovid. Metamorphoses, Book 9, from the tale of Byblis and Caunus) together with a pen and ink drawing of a grapevine and possibly the fountain into which Byblis had been transformed, with inscription repeated. Bookplate: Lot 2 [Broadbent Collection]. Initials on recto of front free endpaper: WR.
