Title
[Bookplate of Thomas Isham] [graphic].
Created/published
[S.l.] : [s.n.], [after 1676, "a modern impression"]
Description
1 print : engraving ; trimmed to 9 x 8 cm
Material base
paper
Note
This design includes the 'bloody hand of Ulster', but does not include a helmet of any type.
David Loggan initially sent 200 copies of a bookplate unsolicited "as a small Niew yaers Gift or a aknowledgment in part for all your favors", but omitted the 'bloody hand of Ulster' and depicted the wrong helmet, thereby leaving Isham an esquire rather than a baronet. Isham pointed this out, and Loggan provided him with a completely new plate. Information taken from lot description (Hardy, pp. 9-11).
Described in Franks as a modern impression of F16127.
