Contains a copy of pleas at a Curia Regis court held in Bruton, Somerset, overseen by Henry Bourchier the Earl of Essex, in 1472; a contemporary copy of the 1608 copy made by Richard Wilkins, of the 13th century exemplification of grants of property by various kings to a monastic order in Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire; copies of two documents accounting the execution of the Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex, one of them by Thomas Mountford and William Barlow. Also includes a formal letter in Latin by Thomas Heneage relating to a forest in Somerset and referring to the prior of "Brodlie", and half a letter only containing the subscription and signature of Henry Horner with a list of the monarchs of England on the verso.

4. leaves 9-10: "The true Copy in substance of the Earle of Essex, his behaviour, his speache, and prayer at the time of his Execution. the xxv of February 1600. With the points he confessed he was guilty in." (with copied signatures of Thomas Montford and William Barlow)
