In one letter to Garrick (2) he regrets he will not be seeing him as he has to hurry back to Paris. In another (3) he writes on behalf of a Swiss miniaturist [Jean Louis Faesch?] who would like to paint him. He also mentions the success of [Bernard Joseph] Saurin's adaptation of "votre Tragedie Bourgeoise Du Joueur," which was then being performed. In a letter to an unknown addressee (5) he discusses a drama he is sending [Ericie ou La Vestale]. Its author, [Jean Gaspard Dubois] De Fontanelle, has been forced by the Chief of Police in Paris to subject it to the censure of the Archbishop,and would like it performed in Lyons.
