Note
According to the dissertation of Inmaculada Serón, "R. Martínez Lafuente" is fictitious, and 33 of the 35 translations were copied from previous adaptations. She gives the dates of the series as 1917-1918, having initially been planned for Shakespeare's tercentenary 1916.
Based on the Folger's holdings, later editions or reprints of this series were produced; variations exist between some copies, mostly in the form and quantity of publisher's advertisements. Later copies include advertisements for Camilo Pitollet's work on Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, first published in 1921, on the back cover. Both of the Folger's copies of volume 3 have more elaborate half-titles and title pages, which may either indicate a later edition or a variation within an edition.
"Director literario: V. Blanco Ibáñez"--series title page.
Includes publisher's advertisements.

Folger-specific note
Paperback binding, each volume with a color illustration on the front cover. The relationship between this set and PR2796.S5 A13 1917 Sh.Col. is unclear. Volumes 1-3 and 5-8 appear identical to their counterparts in that set, although volumes 5 and 7 of this copy have the Pitollet ad, probably indicating later production (the publisher may have put new covers on old printings). Besides advertisements on the back cover, variations in the other five volumes include whether the "En esta collección" notice in the preliminary leaves takes up one page or two, and the presence or absence of additional advertisements in the leaves following the rear table of contents.
