76 p., [1] leaf of plates : 1 ill. (engraving) ; 17 cm (12mo)

Ford notes two editions, including variant issues and states, of Walker's 1734 Hamlet. In this issue, leaf C2 is signed 'F2' and leaf H2 is signed 'H'. Other editions/issues can be recognized by correct signing of leaves C2 and H2, variations in imprint address, and variations in preliminary gatherings and their signatures.

The first issue of the short (stage) edition (Folger card catalog).

Compare to Ford, H.L. Shakespeare 1700-1740, 55b and ESTC T54098. It is not clear that individual copies of the plays were issued with the Life (xxviii p.; signatures [a]² b¹²), intended to precede Hamlet in the collected edition, although many copies have it bound in.

Signatures: [A]² B² C-G⁶ H⁴.
