A reprinting of the following translations previously published separately: "Hercules furens", "Thyestes", and "Troas" by Jasper Heywood; "Oedipus" by Alexander Neville (a revised version); "Medea" and "Agamemnon" by John Studley; and "Octavia" (not by Seneca) by Thomas Nuce. Prints for the first time "Hippolytus" and "Hercules Oetaeus" translated by Studley, and "Thebais" translated by Thomas Newton.

The first leaf is blank except for signature-mark "A"; the last leaf is blank.
Microopaque has the third (Thebais), fourth (Hippolytus) and tenth tragedies (Hercules Oetaeus) only.
Stationerss register: Reprints the separate eds. 22222 sqq., a revised text of 22225; includes 1st ed. of Thebais translated T. Newton, and Hippolytus and Hercules Oetaeus translated J. Studley. The Hippolytus was entered to H. Denham 1566-67 (Arber I.336) and ass'd to R. Jones and J. Charlewood 31 August 1579. A different? trans. of the Hercules Oetaeus was entered to Denham 1566-67 (Arber I.327) and was apparently among the books printing rights to which Denham yielded to the company 8 Jan. 1584 (Arber II.789).
