An adaptation, by Edward Ravenscroft, of Molière's "Le bourgeois gentilhomme" and "Monsieur de Pourceaugnac", which was first published in 1672 as: The citizen turn'd gentleman.

Leaf A2 bears dedication to Prince Rupert and A3 bears a prologue (Woodward & McManaway 966). Variant: A2-3 bears a dedication to Lord Arundel and there is no prologue (Woodward & McManaway 965).
