Provenance: George Shakspere, Coventry (died 1787); to his son Thomas Shakspere; to his daughter Rosa Shakspere; to the wife of her son, Mrs. Perkins of 12 Harewood Place, London (the provenance at this point is provided by Harry Spurr, a London dealer, who was involved in the negotiations with Folger); offered by Rosenbach on 6 January 1917; offered by Edwards on 1 June 1917.
