Attribution to "Mrs. Young" from printed list cut from a catalogue and pasted on a scrap of paper entitled "List [illegible word] to Loan Collection in Newport," Folger manuscript Y.d.531(4). Item 35 on list reads "Study of an Eye, by Mrs. Young" and is marked in red pencil.
The miniature is mounted in a rectangular taped frame with a gold mat and an oval opening cut for the eye.
