Summary
One of the greatest threats to historic buildings and other cultural property is fire and probable attendant water damage. This film considers that threat through a profile of the programs and publications of agencies such as the NFPA (The National Fire Protection Association) as well as a comprehensive review of the different fire detection, alarm and sprinkler systems currently available. Also addressed are the aesthetic considerations and problems involved in the installation of such systems in historic buildings.
