From dealer's description: "51. [THEATRE.] Shares in Drury Lane Theatre, with free admission. Particulars and conditions of sale of a renter’s share in the new and splendid Theatre Royal Drury Lane … will be sold by auction by Mr. Geo. Robins … at the Auction Mart, opposite the Bank of England, on Thursday, the 7 th of July, 1836 … [London, 1836.] Handbill. Folio (approx. 22 x 37cm) [1]p., blank verso with printed docket title, old folds, priced in ink by contemporary hand, a few small marginal tears not affecting text, old folds. This ephemeral handbill serves as an auction catalogue for the sale 7 July 1836 at the Auction Mart in London by George Robins of a renter’s share and a proprietor’s share in the Drury Lane Theatre. The renter’s share entitled the possessor “to an income of 1s. 3d. Per night, for every evening of performance, which amounts to near £12 per season …” Both shares conferred free admission on their owners. Not traced in OCLC."
