Primarily in the hand of Michael Lok, Sir Julius Caesar's stepfather. Consists of pedigrees of English and continental aristocratic and ruling families, extracts from deeds, and indices to various letter books (including some in the Heralds' office). Some sections are in later hands, including 3 sets of opinions regarding banks, drains, and sluices that appears to have no connection with Lok (the commission sat in 1616-17).

Includes table of contents in the hand of Sir Julius Caesar (this manuscript is listed in Caesar's library catalogue, British Library MS Lansdowne 124, fol. 7). Not all items in the table of contents are included in this manuscript. Missing sections were four parts about English kings before and after the Conquest, and separate items relating to the Danish kings, the Ferrers family, families in Marseilles, Scandinavian royal families, kings of Scotland after the Conquest, Ireland, and the deeds and origins of the French kings with the Plantagenet family.

Detached contemporary stiffened vellum binding, with remains of green silk ties.
