A chivalric romance from the "Palmerín" cycle of romances, of 16th-century Spanish origin. This series of tales relate of the adventures of Palmerin d'Oliva, Emperor of Constantinople, and his descendents. Most works in the series are of uncertain authorship. "Flortir" is the last entry in the Spanish Palmerín series. The cycle is continued with the Portuguese "Palmerin de Inglaterra." Cf. Patchell, Mary. According to Palau, the Spanish original of this work no longer exists.
A reimpression of Tramezzino's 1554 edition.
A companion volume was published by Tramezzino in the same year (reimpression of his 1560 edition), entitled: Libro secondo del valoroso cavallier Flortir, imperador di Constantinopoli.
