Note
Primarily a description of a cavalcade of allegorical figures, entitled "Trionfo de' sogni" and representing the vanity of worldly enticements, which was one of a series of festivities presented between Dec. 16, 1565 and March 10 1566 in honor of the wedding of Francesco de' Medici to Joanna of Austria. The "Canto," p. [2]-3, in Latin and Italian, has been tentatively attributed to Cosimo I de' Medici. Cf. NUC pre-1956.
