Official first-day cover featuring color cachets depicting Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon (lower left corner) and Anne Hathaway's cottage, Shottery (lower right corner). "Official first day cover, Dominica" is printed above the illustration of Shakespeare's birthplace, with an image of the Dominica coat of arms and a Droeshout portrait of Shakespeare. "400th anniversary of Shakespeares birth, Saint Georges Day, April 23rd 1964" is printed in between the illustrations of Shakespeare's birthplace and Anne Hathaway's cottage. Affixed in upper right corner is a 15c stamp with illustrations of Queen Elizabeth II, William Shakespeare, and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, printed in pink. Postmarked at G.P.O.
